Hi again Andy

Firstly, Joseph Hyde, who was christened at Oldham St Mary's in 1817. I'm not sure where you got his father's name from, as both the IGI and Lancs OPC site indicate that he was illegitimate, giving only his mother's name (Betty Hyde).

>From the Lancs OPC site:-
Baptism: 31 Aug 1817 St Mary, Oldham, Lancashire, EnglandJoseph Hyde - Son of Betty Hyde Abode: Oldham workhouse Occupation: Spinster Baptised by: Thomas Fawcett
I haven't been able to definitely pinpoint Joseph and Betty in the 1841 Census - but can see Joseph in 1851, with his wife Mary (nee Ball) and their children - also two of Mary's siblings living just down the road.

Maybe you already have this information, I wasn't sure if your message meant you had only found them in 1841.

I have a CD of burials at Oldham St Mary's, and there is one burial which could possibly be Betty if she never married -
7 Feb 1836, Betty Hyde, of Barnfold, aged 46.
(But if you've found her on the 1841 Census, then this can't be her!)

I had a quick look for the Hicks and George families in 1841, also without much success - could you give ref numbers, and I'll see if I can suggest anything else!

Best wishes
Janet C
