Hi Valerie and all.
First of all Valerie, thank you for you wonderful website. It really
is great for people like me who are
so far away from the place of their birth. It helps to jog the old memory:>)
Anne of the List sent me the information the night the article
appeared in BEN. The very next day I
e mailed the Museum and within hours had three fantastic images of
Tommy and Elsie. (and tandem!)
Mr. Daniel Smith at the Museum was VERY helpful. Not only did he
send me the images, he contacted Robert Calderley for me, who in
turn has made contact with me. So I have now found another cousin
through this wonderful List.
My parents, John and Grace Calderley had a tandem also and rode with
'The Cyclist Road Club' in the 1930s . I do not have any photos of
them on the tandem, so am very happy to have the one of Tommy
& Elsie. Now I know how they dressed etc. as well as to what the
tandem looked like.
Thanks again to you all.
Best wishes from Ottawa, Canada
Joan
