Dawn,
The simplest way to find parent's names is to get a copy of a birth
certificate of one of their children. It will contain the mother's maiden
name (if she is married) as well as her married name. It should also contain
the father's name and his occupation, and where the birth took place. So ..
if you have a reference for Robert Frederick BERNHARDT you will find out the
names of his parents by sending for the certificate. I don't know of any
other way of doing it!

Lest I offend, let me say straight away I have seen this request and the
answers, check the websites - but when I googled, could not find a useful
website. So


I have two possible family certs which I will buy if they are likely to
provide enough info.

They are a marriage in 1896 and a birth in 1900 - maybe to the same family.
I will include the info I have found.

Birth - Sep Quarter 1900 BERNHARDT Robert Frederick at Stockton (10a, 50)
