In the South Pool PR's Entry 428

James Roper SAUNDERS bapt 8 Dec 1839 son of John SAUNDERS and Sarah of South
Pool, labourer.

The 1841 census at http://my4bears.orcon.net.nz/Home.html has quite a few
SAUNDERS families.

But I couldn't match a couple to the above information.

The 1851 census has the following info which to me looks hopeful

Sarah LANG Wife(Daur) M 21 F --- Dodbroke-DEV
Elizabeth A. LANG GDau - 1 F --- Devonport-DEV

Address: 2 Hood Street Knowlings Malt House, Morice Town
Census Place: Stoke Damerel Stoke Damerel, Devonshire
PRO Reference: HO/107/1882 Folio: 577 Page: 34 FHL Film: 0221031

No 2 Hood Street is in Stoke Damerel and maybe this is where the mix up is
Re Stoke Newington.

Has anyone in the family had the name Roper passed down and does any of the
other names " ring a bell" with you.

I could not find a marriage in South Pool, I would if I were you order the
DFHS marriage Index. This can be done on-line at
http://www.devonfhs.org.uk/
