My group (I group 3 - 66592) has some interesting links. I suspect you have
the data that the US-Ellis side here links back to the Mayflower II and the
Plymouth colony member Lt. John Ellis.
My Ellis side however is direct from the UK and I have been working with
Michael Shoemaker to find the MRCA. We have a candidate:
(606208) prob. William Ellis (~1394-) of Swineshead
Please include in your charts the data from his website research if
I have been hoping to find the time to enter this into a proper genealogical
format. I had supplied Joe Ellis as a decendent, and this line is 'Henry
Ellis' line (my grandfather) on Michael's website (see bottom of page).
Many thanks on your efforts!

A DNA study has recently been conducted of male Ellises. Two
of those tested -- a descendant of Levi Ellis (and therefore of (9472) John
Ellis) and a descendant of a Henry Ellis of Lincolnshire -- show a 25-marker
near-match, differing only at DYS 447:

I apologize for getting behind in the records...I had a major
computer crash and am in New Computer/Vista HELL. Things still aren't
working quite as they should, but at least I am able to get some work
We now have 81 members. I had the pleasure of moving someone from
the unmatched group to a new group (R1b Group 10) when a new member
was found to be a match.
Another new member matched "I group 3" and was added to that group.
It seems clear who the progeniture of that group is, and I am working
on a chart for that group. Can't promise when it will be finished,
but I hope not to long.
The conference that was scheduled for admins in November was
postponed until March due to the hurricane in Houston. I will be
attending and hope to come back with new ideas, knowledge and renewed
