Hello everyone. I want to apologize for the spam that recently came
through the list. I do want to explain something right now. The
person who sent the message is not a list member and I do not know
how the message came through. Rootsweb has a very good spam filter
that happened to miss that 1 message out of the last 50 that were
sent to this list alone this past month. I put the domain of that
address on the reject list so it shouldn't happen again from that
person. I also contacted rootsweb's administrators to look into this
and make sure nothing like that comes through any list again.
Remember, I have no control over what messages make it to the lists
and which do, I can only take action after the fact. Please do note
that this is NOT a normal occurance as this is the first time we've
ever received spam to any of my 9 lists since their creation in 1996!
This list alone has literally thousands of spam sent to it a year
that the spam filter at rootsweb is able to catch. Again, I
apologize for the inconvenience.
