Subject: [ELLER] ELLER/DYER from NC to IL circa 1840-1850

I apologize in advance for the length of this message. I have these ELLER
names recurring for fifty years that I can't sort out.

I am looking for the ELLER family that intermarried with the DYER family in
the late 1830s. John C (possibly Conley) DYER married Rosannah ELLER in Rhea
Co., TN. Moses ELLER was bondsman for this marriage. John C's sister Leah
DYER married Moses ELLER shortly thereafter. In 1840 these two families are
still in Rhea Co. with several other ELLER and DYER families.

In 1850 Moses and Leah ELLER are in Jackson Co., AL but the children of John
C. and Rosannah DYER are living in Jefferson Co., IL with Jacob ELLER, a
22-year-old farmer born in NC. There are other ELLERS in the neighborhood. In
1854 Olla DYER, daughter of John C. & Rosannah married William Green BISHOP
in Macoupin Co., IL with the permission of her guardian (appointed the same
day) George ELLER.

In 1870, Andrew and William ELLER are working on the farm of William Green
and Olla BISHOP in Macoupin Co., IL

In 1880, after Olla and William Green BISHOP had died, two of their children,
Emmy & Jesse, were living with Joseph ELLER in Jefferson Co., IL. Emmy
married Newton WEBB in Jefferson Co., IL and became my grandmother's
grandmother.

I recently visited Dayton, TN and Scottsboro, AL (county seats) but had no
luck locating new information.

Who were these wonderful people who followed the Tennessee River from North
Carolina to Illinois and took in my orphan ancestors? Where and when did John
C. and Rosannah DYER die?
Any help with my mystery would be appreciated.
Marcia
