The following obit is reprinted from the Bristol Herald Courier, in Bristol, Va. It is here with their permission.

Walter E. Eller Jr.

JOLO, W.Va.-Graveside services will be conducted at noon Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, for Walter R. (Johnnie) Eller Jr.., 82, who passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, in Bristol Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Reverend Charles Rose will officiate at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where burial will follow. Born July 7, 1919, at Superior, W.Va., he was the son of the late Walter R. and Macy Ferguson Eller Sr. He was the former owner and operator of Johnnie's Service Station in Jolo and the last surviving member of his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Maurice Eller; and one sister, Virginia Eller Bales. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ruth Dale Eller of the home; two daughters, Linda Keen and husband, Kerry, of Asheboro, N.C., and Mary Ratliff of Abingdon; two granddaughters, Kay Salter Collins and husband, Chris, of Asheboro and Kelly Ratliff Mullins and husband, Eric, of Abingdon; and three grea!
t-grandsons, Michael, Shawn and Jacob Collins, all of Asheboro. Friends may call at the chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, Friday, Dec. 28, from 6-9 p.m. Pallbearers will be friends of the family. Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger is in charge of arrangements.
