Hi Alfred,
Hey, America Elizabeth Eller Knorr is MY folks!! My mother remembers her as
Aunt Americy. Actually, she was my mother's great-aunt. And yes, there is a
John Eller who m. Jane Rebecca Montgomery. John Eller was a brother to America's
father Will Eller. They both came from NC to the Competine IA area and some
of the families eventually ended up in the Trumbull NE area (Clay County).
The line looks something like this:
Simeon Eller and Fanny McNiel had 11 children, all born in NC:
Among them were:
John Cleveland Eller (b. 1822 in NC) m. Jane Rebecca (Rebecca Jane?)
Montgomery
William "Will" Eller (b. 1825 in NC) m. Catharine Parnell
To make things interesting, John and Will had a younger SISTER named America
also, b. in 1841, who married William Whittington. This particular Eller
family stayed in NC.
I only have one child listed for John C. Eller -- James Allen Eller (b.
1847) m. Mary Jane Tinsley.
Will Eller and Catharine Parnell had 10 children: James, Henrietta
(Nettie), Mary Angeline, Thomas Jefferson, America Elizabeth, Martha C.,
David, Fannie Maria (my great-grandmother), Benjamin Franklin and Robert
Tracy Eller.
It would be appreciated I'm sure, if you could post the information from the
obituary. Maybe someone can tell what year the death was.
Regards,
Trish
