Subject: [ELLER-L] word of the week...migration patterns
Date: Tue, 06 Oct 1998 18:56:41 PDT
NOTE: PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE IN ITS ENTIRITY!!!
This week's phrase is "migration pattern" :) What this means is in your
line, usually, you will notice a migration pattern of your family
(unless they are like my Bradford's and stayed in the same place for
many years) such as VA>>KY>IL (my Hackett line) or maybe it was just
Mecklenburg Co.>Cabarrus Co., NC. Take a few minutes and post it to the
list.
FOR NEWBIES: The way the "word of the week" works is I throw out a
topic and if someone has a line that falls into that topic, then they
are *supposed* to post it, unfortunately though, I think the majority of
the lists are lurkers, so not everyone really does. (I have no problem
with lurkers by the way, they just shouldn't expect to find their info
passively, they may be lucky that way, but they need to get active on
the list to find their lines sooner). Continue reading...
IMPORTANT FOR EVERYONE:
To post your line, do NOT just hit "reply" to this message, because I am
not the list, just the listmaster!:) Start a clean message with the
"To" address as where "SURNAME" is the name of
the list (ex: , etc.) Also, do NOT send them to
as the "-request" address is ONLY for
subscribe and unsubscribe to the list and nothing more.
Good luck everyone, and please note that the CAPS and the "!!!!" above
are only for emphasis, not shouting:)
