Subject: [ELLER-L] word of the week...common names
Date: Mon, 28 Sep 1998 08:51:11 PDT

NOTE: PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE IN ITS ENTIRITY!!!

This week's phrase is "uncommon common name" :) What this means is in
your line, if you have found any strange (or not so strange) names the
occur often, post it to the list. I don't necessarily mean names like
"John" or "William" (which is probably the most common male COVENTRY
name), but if there are maybe four out of 7 people in your line named
"Ezekiel" or "Jabez" (which is one in my Kendall line), then post those.
It IS ok if you want to post for common names like "John" or "William"
if you would like, but I'm thinking of more unconventional names for
this week:)

FOR NEWBIES: The way the "word of the week" works is I throw out a
topic and if someone has a line that falls into that topic, then they
are *supposed* to post it, unfortunately though, I think the majority of
the lists are lurkers, so not everyone really does. (I have no problem
with lurkers by the way, they just shouldn't expect to find their info
passively, they may be lucky that way, but they need to get active on
the list to find their lines sooner). For instance, this week, if you
have an unusual story like described above, post it to the list and/or
if you're line of Barringer, Black, Bradford, Coventry, Eller, Hackett,
or Kern were in AL, post that info also .

IMPORTANT FOR EVERYONE:
To post your line, do NOT just hit "reply" to this message, because I am
not the list, just the listmaster!:) Start a clean message with the
"To" address as where "SURNAME" is the name of
the list (ex: , etc.) Also, do NOT send them to
as the "-request" address is ONLY for
subscribe and unsubscribe to the list and nothing more.

Good luck everyone, and please note that the CAPS and the "!!!!" above
are only for emphasis, not shouting:)
