I have a Frederick and Sophia Ehlers who came to America from Germany with
their 4 sons ca. 1855. The 4 sons were: Charles, Henry, William Henry, and
Frederick. They are shown on the 1860 U.S. census for Jackson Co., MS. All 4
of the boys fought in the Civil War on the Southern side. They served in
Twigg's Rifles where their last name was given as Ellis.
Charles married a Sarah Miller and lived all his life in Escatawpa, MS.
Henry married a 1. Minerva Miller; 2. Lenora Marie Reus. He lived out his
life in Escatawpa dying in 1890.
William Henry, his wife and 1 child died in Greenville, Ms. during a Yellow
Fever epidemic in the 1870's
Frederick deserted from the Confederacy and ended up in Indiana. he married
several times. He did return home to visit Charles about 1900.

ANYBODY OUT THERE WHO BELONGS TO THIS FAMILY?

Regards
Phyllis
