I realized that I never sent my line to the list before so here it is. I
apologize for my tardiness. Also sorry for the length

1. George Michael ELLER b. May 22, 1722 ? don't know where, but have seen
both Germany and Rowan Co., NC listed. d. Bef. August 25, 1778 Frederick
Co., MD m(1) ? m(2)Anna Maria who've I've seen b. 1726 in Rowan Co., NC
but can't verify
NOTES on George: in the bible of his great grandson's was the following:
"....came from Bebon (Baden) co, Germany in the year 1690"
"All parts of this bible record are proved by public records except the
birth place of Lenard (Leonard) Eller, the place (Bebon co, Germany) where
Leonard's father was born and the date that he came to this
country......1690 as the arrival date of the father of Leonard Eller, born
1754 is not tenable. The date 1690 would not have been unreasonable as the
birth year of Leonard's father (George Michael Eller) and 1730 to 1745 as
the time of his arrival in America" Source: "George Michael Eller and

2. Peter ELLER b. abt 1746 d. Bef. July 29, 1799 Ashe Co., NC (this was
the part of Ashe that later become Wilkes Co) m. Elizabeth DICK abt 1767.
Elizabeth was b. 1748 Frederick Co., MD d. Bef. July 28, 1844 Ashe Co., NC.
Her father was Conrad DICK b. 1725 in Switzerland according to the LDS
files. He died 1774 in Ashe/Wilkes Co., NC and m. Anna Catherina b. 1727 in
Frederick Co., MD according to WFT cd's.

3. John ELLER b. abt 1767 Frederick Co., MD d. 1823 Wilkes Co., NC m.
Sussanah KERN(S) Nov 5, 1792 Rowan Co., NC (not sure of source, either LDS
or WFT cd for marriage date and place). She was b. 1765 in Guilford Co., NC
d. April 10, 1853. Her father was Simeon KERN(S) d. 1761 in NC and m.
Christina HOFFNER/HOFFIN (not verified).

It is here that the family divides in 2 parts and I am descended from each.
I will list one line starting with 4. then list the second line also with 4.:

Co., NC. Fanny was b. Jan 12, 1799 d. Oct 4, 1856 Wilkes Co., NC. Fanny's
father was James McNIEL/McNEIL b. abt 1763 d. 1834 Wilkes Co., NC m. Mary
SHEPHERD 1791 Wilkes CO., NC who was b. January 17, 1772 Spotsylvania Co.,
VA d. June 07, 1869 Wilkes Co., NC

5. Jesse Franklin ELLER b. December 17, 1835 Wilkes Co., NC d. November
05, 1900 Atkins, Smythe Co., NC m. Mary Ann LAXTON who was b. Jan 1, 1839
d. Dec 14, 1905. Her parents were Wilson LAXTON b. April 10, 1807 Wilkes
Co., NC and Ruth GREER

6. Mollie Evelyn ELLER b. May 10, 1881 Marion, VA d. 1945 North
Wilkesboro, Wilkes Co., NC m. William Hege McNEILL ? Jefferson, Ashe Co.,
NC. William was b. Jan 15, 1880 Jefferson, Ashe Co., NC d. 1925 North
Wilkesboro, Wilkes Co., NC His father is 5. below:

4. Rachel ELLER b. April 12, 1800 d. Dec 26, 1850 Wilkes Co., NC m.
John McNEILL Aug 19, 1820 Wilkes Co., NC John was b. January 30, 1796
Wilkes Co., NC d. January 21, 1877 Wilkes Co., NC. John's parents were the
parents of Fanny's in 4. above.

5. Peter McNEILL b. Aug 26, 1827 d. Feb 14, 1909 NC m. Mary Ann PHILLIPS
who was b. Aug 17, 1839 d. Feb 21, 1921 NC. Mary Ann's father was a C. R.
PHILLIPS who d. April 7, 1865.

6. William Hege McNEILL (6. above)

NOTES: The father of Fanny and John McNEILL in 4. and 4. was the son of the
Reverend George McNEIL who was a founding member of the Yadking Baptist
Association. He died June of 1805 in Wilkes Co., NC and m. Mary COATES.
Mary was the dauther of Nathaniel COATES and Martha/Lucinda LAMAR.
Nathaniel was the "high Sherrif" of Wilkes Co., GA in the late 1700s.
Nathaniel is the son of Henry COATES of VA and Sarah YOUNG. The parents of
Mary SHEPHERD, wife of the son of Rev. McNEIL was Robert SHEPHERD and Sarah
RASH who was the daughter of Joseph RASH all of VA.

SOURCES: all the info on the ELLER, McNEIL(L)/McNIEL, KERN(S), and PHILLIPS
come from the book "George Michael Eller and Descendants of his in America"
by James W. Hook c. abt 1957. The info on the other families either come
from WFT cd's or from other researchers.
