Hi,
I have much the same information. My info. came from a book The History
of Union Co. S.C., and was submitted by Mannie Lee Edwards Mabry.
Thomas Edwards of Wales, Captain of the ship "Society", was married
in 1660 to Elizabeth Hael (Hall), dau. of Thomas Hael (Hall), who about
1642 was granted land in Niew Netherland, later known as New York, by the
Dutch West Indies Company. When the British took over these Dutch colonies,

Edwards had this grant confirmed by the Royal Governor. At that time
Thomas Edwards swore his loyalty, and allegiance to England forever.
To Thomas Edwards of Wales, and Elizabeth's son Robert (b. 1662),
who married Margaret Cuelin (Crulin) in 1685. They had a son,
Thomas Nathaniel Edwards b. Oct. 14, 1690. On March 12, 1714
Thomas Nathaniel married Isabella Downing (1692-c1793).
Their Children: Robert b. 1716, Joshua b. 1718, William b. 1720,
Thomas b. 1723, Leonard b. 1725, John b. 1727, Jacob b. 1729,
Martha Isabelle b. 1731. To add to his holdings Thomas Nathaniel
Edwards, bought from Indian's 5,000 acres of land along the Hudson
River.Between 1778 and 1781 he died, having remained loyal to England
during the Revolution. furnishing grain and food for the British Army.
