If someone can help me with this it would be appreciated. There was an Edward Echols/Eckles who filed a will in 1779 in Wilkes co Georgia. I don't know when he died. I found an entry in the Wilkes co Ga will index. It was on page 72 in will book DD but the post on the Gagenweb liste ofr Wilkes co Ga only listed wills to page 50. I don't know if that pages of will book DD after page 50 have been lost or why they were not listed after page 50 but I could not find Edward Echol/Eckles's will to see who he was married to or who his children were. If anyone has the will book DD please check to see if his will is listed.



There was an Edward Eckles who died in 1829 in Wilkes co Ga. Would anyone know who he was? He was married to a Jane according to his will. I think he might have been the son of a Thomas Eckles who was the son of Edward eckles born in 171- and lived in Surry co and Amelia co and Sussex co Virginia but I am not sure. I have read that the Echols lived in that area and then the Eckles went there about the same time. I don't know if they were related somehow but I could not find where there was a descendant of John Echols and Mary Cave named Edward. Any help appreciated. Thanks,Ross
