Dear Lorean,

Your John TANNER is from Maryland. Have you found information regarding a
Vincent/Vinson TANNER from Maryland that was born abt 1880/1890? All I
know is that he pos. married a lady in NC and they lived in the Wayne Co., GA
area, had a John TANNER in 1813 and three other children, Wiley abt1815, Mary Polly
& Sarah abt 1820/25. Vincent/Vinson's wife's name is still a mystery and
she died just after 1830. We can't seem to find any documents with her name
on them. Vincent/Vinson TANNER remarried his neighbor Winifred Gardiner
(dau. of Nathan GARDINER). They lived in GA and then moved to the GA/FL border
around Camden/Baker County. Vincent/Vinsons TANNER's son John TANNER
was in the army, an Indian Scout that served 3 times. He married a Mary Polly
Canada (dau. of John Canaday of GA & Missouri Powell (Chief Osceola's half
sister). He moved his family down to the Orange Co., FL area while it was still
a frontier and settled north of Orlando in the Longwood, Florida area. His son,
Henry W. TANNER bought his Orange Co. property on the Econlockhatchee
River and John lived with Henry on and off and with other children after his wife
died around 1880. John TANNER is buried in Lake Co., FL on one of his son's
former property. We still can't find the grave of his wife Mary Polly CANADA-
TANNER. Maybe she was buried on the Longwood, FL property and a marker
dissolved or was destroyed. Henry W. TANNER m. 1) Mary DRAWDY and
had 8 kids. She died abt1901. He m. 2) Georgia Caroline WALDEN, formerly
Georgia WALDEN-CURRIE (m. to Samuel Walton CURRIE of Waycross, GA).
Henry TANNER and Georgia WALDEN-CURIE m. 1907, they had 4 children.
Their youngest was my grandmother, Beatrice Alena TANNER. She kept the
family homestead and took care of Henry TANNER and one of her half brothers
Robert Lee CURRIE after Lee retired from the service. Beatrice TANNER m.
Rufus John EASTMAN of PA and they raised two children, Marcus Rufus John
EASTMAN & LaFay Ann EASTMAN. The property is still in the EASTMAN family.

Vincent/Vinson TANNER and his 2) wife had 7 or 8 kids and I believe after he died, his widow moved to the Tampa, FL area.

If VINSON/VINCENT TANNER or his son JOHN W. TANNER look familiar to you or others on our listings, please write me. Vincent/Vinson TANNER and his Unknown TANNER wife are such a mystery. Any extra info or clarification is greatly appreciated.
