I've noticed several inquiries regarding black cemeteries in East
Texas...a difficult situation probably exists there, but you can
probably get help through the many black churches. I have doubts about
most county records before 1900 anyway, and would expect the situation
regarding records of black citizens to be even less reliable. I believe
the churches have taken care of most of the needs of their people,
better than any government entity, and would hopefully have kept better
records.
