Subject: Bascus of Nacogdoches County, Texas

Hello,
Would anyone know of a Willie Bascus of Nacogdoches County, Texas probably
back in 1880 or so, or are there any Bascus descendants out there somewhere?
Not sure of dates. My maternal grandfather is Lorene Perkins. Not sure of
spelling of Lorene. Could be Lorraine. He changed his first name to Cap.
His dad was Willie Bascus and mom was Lizzie Perkins. Don't think they
married though. Cap took his mother's maiden name of Perkins.

None of my aunts or relatives today know a lot about Willie Bascus, who would
have been my gr-grandfather. He was supposed to have been from Louisiana, but
somehow ended up in Nacogdoches? He must have met Lizzie there because that's
where my Perkins are from. The thing is we don't know much about him. Would
love to find out who my ancestor was and also his parents, since we don't have
a clue. I do know that he moved to California.
