I just received my issue of Genealogy Bulletin and had to share this
information with everyone. I am sure there are plenty of you that
already knew this, but I didn't . Hope it helps some of you.
Cass County , Texas changed its name right before the 1870 census. It
was changed to Davis County. However it was changed back to Cass
County. So if you are looking for anyone in what you thought was Cass
County for the 1870 census you may need to go to Davis Co. and check
their records.
I know of several other counties that changed their names, but did
not know of this one. Hope this helps someone..It did me !!
