How to find a location in Dayton, TX (or anywhere else)
To find a location, go to www.etakguide.com Click "find location" . Type in
Dayton, Tx. A map comes up. Use the "zoom in " feature, and click on the gray
square of
Dayton, TX. Pick an area that looks kind of empty of streets, but north of
the railroad and U.S. 90. Click on that area.
You will find Linney Road running roughly east and west from Waco Street,
across
Winfree and east near Colbert Street - almost to the Clayton Railroad. This
is all north of U.S.90. You should be able to type in Wifree Street and find
Linney Rd. or
Linney Ave. I could not get Linney Rd. to work (Error screen appeared.)
Linney Road appears to be about a mile and a half long. Linney runs parallel
to Waring Avenue, in a southwest to northest direction.
The only cemetery listed in the yellow pages on www.lycos.com (for Dayton, TX)
is Palms Memorial Park 602 N. Main St., Dayton, TX 77535-2227 Phone:
409-258-2678
Palms Memorial Park can be found by clicking on "Map" while at the "find a
business" (from the yellow pages on www.lycos.com) The map shows Palms
Memorial Park (on Main Street in Dayton, TX) is just south of Linney Road.
Perhaps someone who lives in the area can tell you if the Linney Cemetery is
on
Linney Road. Perhaps someone at Palms Memorial can tell you about the older
cemeteries.
