Dear Carol and friends,
It has been suggested, albeit only as a supposition, that Jannetje
Jans who married "Skipper" Jurian
Andries was a daughter of Jan Evertse Bout. The idea seem to have come
about because Andries
Jeuriaens, their son, with wife Annetje Praa (bp.1652- ), daughter of
Peter Praa and Marie Phillipe, was in
possession of land in 1674 that had been patented by Jan Evertse Bout in
1668. (See Stiles, History of
the City of Brookilyn, p. 99, and Genealogies of LI Families, vol II,
page 29). Bergen suggested that
Annetje Praa had married first Jan Evertse, undoubtedly to cover the
land ownership, but this is
impossible, as she married Andries when she was 16, three years before
Jan Evertse's will, and she was
51 years his junior besides.
Jannetje Jans, widow of Jurian Andries, married as her second
husband Thomas Lambertse.
Does anyone have any proof one way or the other about this matter?
Margery
