Dear Mary, Sylvia and Gerry,

To add to the information supplied by Sylvia and Gerry...perhaps....

William Jenkins, Shoemaker, m. Dorothy James in 1817 at Burton......

There is only one Burton James marriage in the appropriate parental time
frame.......a William James in 1780 married Sarah Richards ....one would
expect to find their first names in those of Dorothy's children which casts
doubt that these are Dorothy James' parents.

As for possible marriages at Burton for parents of William Jenkins.......
Charles Jenkins 1791 m. Anne Griffiths
David Jenkins 1783 m. Mary Max

There is also a marriage for a David Jenkins in 1805 to Mary Rees....so
unless they married years after William Jenkins was born, they are hardly
likely to be his parents. However, this David Jenkins might possibly be a
child of the 1783 marriage.

Unfortunately there are no early Mathias marriages shown as taking place at
Walton West, though plenty took place in other areas of Rhos Hundred.

There is a marriage shown in the 1813-37 Pemb. marriages for a Thomas
Mathias of Nevern who married Esther Phillip at Llanfair Nantgwyn
03/07/1834.........but I have been caught out before....so looked further
...and there is also a marriage shown between Thomas Mathias and Esther
Phillips at Walton West 19/10/1833. How coincidental......how intriguing!
