Gdye (Dydd da)
I am seeking information on the genealogy of THOMAS STEPHENS (1821-1875),
the noted Welsh Historian and Literary Critic and author of the The
Literature of the Kymry
In particular I would appreciate advice on any other children born to Thomas
s parents, Evan and Rachel (WILLIAMS) - where they lived, what they did
and who they married. .
I am seeking this information in order to confirm, or disprove, a remark
once made by my grandfather, also a Thomas Stephens (1863-1951) that there
was a family connection to THOMAS STEPHENS.
I have copies of several articles relating to THOMAS STEPHENS from the
Dictionary of Welsh National Biography; "Centenary Of Thomas Stephes" by
Thomas Ballinger, NLW 1921 and History of the Vale of Neath , 1921
(fac.ed. 1994). This last reference, read in conjunction with abstracts from
the National Probate Calendars suggest there is a connection but I still
need to confirm this.
I can provide more detailed information on my STEPHENS family and the
probable links to THOMAS STEPHENS to anyone interested.
