My nagging worked, got a reply at last .
So there's no problem as far as aol are concerned, its apparently all down to
your own ISPs then :-)

Dear Johngareth,

I got to your page no problems. The "members.aol.com" domain really shouldn't
be a problem for any other internet users. It is the busiest domain in the
world, with an excess of 400,000 hits per day average, but it does have the
capacity for this.

If you know of anyone with persistant problems connecting, get them to contact
their ISP and ask why - or they could ring us and we could try PINGing their
domain to make sure it responds OK :o)
