Hi. I am searching for the ancestors of:

His parents may have been David and Frances Doyle.

Have you run across any of these names in your searches? Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

September 1852 in Montgomery County, Virginia.

Doyle and Margaret Ann Doyle, all of my stock of cattle to be equally
divided. 3rd give my beloved grandsons, John B. Doyle and William F. Doyle
100 acres of land; also to daughter, Susannah McCuthinson, Margaret Doyle,
Susannah Doyle, and Margaret Ann Doyle 3 bonds, Bedford County Virginia by
William Creasey.

James A Doyle, the executor was in poor health and refused to serve.
William F. Doyle Jr., was a suitable replacement and the court accepted him
as executor.

It appears that James was either given money or property before the will or
was disinherited.

ALBERT FLOYD DOYLE
********************************

Gregory Lindstrom -> Judith Peterson -> Sylvia Hypes -> Gertrude Doyle ->
Albert Doyle -> James Doyle -> William Doyle

Albert Floyd Doyle was born on 6 April 1871(2) in Princeton, Mercer County,
West Virginia to James A. Doyle and Martha A. Jewell (Death Certificate).
The marriage register for Albert and Margaret French states that he was born
in Grainger County, Tennessee. It is believed that the county clerk skipped
a line in the marriage register and wrote this birthplace for the person
above Albert. All other children of James and Martha born before and after
Albert were born in or around Mercer County.

It is on the Doyle side that there is suppose to be Indian blood in our
background. Pictures of Albert Doyle show remarkable Indian features. Some
of his grandchildren have extremely dark complexions and straight dark hair.
They could easily walk on a reservation and pass for an Indian.

Albert F. Doyle married Margaret "Dolly" Ellen French on 22 August 1895 in
Graham, Tazewell County, Virginia (Tazewell County Marriage Book 3).
Margaret was born on 21 (22) April, 1878 to James Daniel French and
Henrietta Belcher (Death Certificate). Margaret was very pretty when she
was born and a family member said, "she looks just like a doll", and she was
known to the family as Dolly all her life. She appeared to use "Magge"
also, as it appears on Albert's death certificate. Margaret was the
daughter of James D. French and Henrietta E. Belcher.

Albert and Margaret had 14 children:

Everett Ervan was born on 11 May 1896 in Bluefield, Mercer County, West
Virginia. Everett married Stella Mae Hager on 8 October 1918 (10 August
1917). Everett died on 22 November 1954 in Princeton, Mercer County, West
Virginia.

Gertrude Nannie was born on 4 January 1898 in Bluefield, Virginia. The
city of Bluefield, West Virginia, which lies in Mercer County, was closer to
the house and her father Albert Doyle registered her birth on the West
Virginia side of the border. Gertrude is listed in many documents with a
birthdate of 10 January 1898. Gertrude married Luther Walton Hypes on 12
December 1917 in Bluefield, West Virginia. Gertrude died on 27 March 1985
in Springfield, Ohio.

Earlie Gennis was born on 2 November 1899. Earl died on 4 January 1916.

Verneela Texas was born on 18 February 1901. Verneela married Estle Edward
Miller on 24 June 1924. Verneela died on 28 April 1993 in Bluefield, Mercer
County, West Virginia. Verneela was buried in the Monte Vista Cemetery,
Bluefield, West Virginia.

Burley was born on 27 December 1902. Burley died on 20 July 1903.

Stella Mae was born on 4 February 1904. Stella was married on 2 April
1924 to Ad Dewey Hypes. Stella died on 4 March 1970.

Floyd Edward was born on 2 May 1906. Floyd married Ida Lilly on 27 August
1928. Floyd died on 17 February 1960.

Howard Arthur was born on 27 November 1908 in Bluefield, Mercer County,
West Virginia. Howard married Sadie Jackson on 16 April 1929 in Bluefield,
West Virginia. Howard died on 5 February 1988 in Princeton, West Virginia.

Reva Arbutus was born on 11 March 1910. Reva married Kermit Butler on 15
November 1930. Reva died on 20 January 1989.

Beatrice Ethel was born on 5 December 1911. Beatrice married Claude
Everett "Oley" Denny on 29 July 1938 in Bluefield, West Virginia.

Dennis Daniel was born on 11 March 1913. Dennis married Lena Thomas on 29
July 1938. Dennis died on 9 November 1943(5).

Gladys Virginia was born on 2 May 1914. Gladys married and divorced Lee
Rutledge. Gladys married Ferrell Pennington. Gladys died on 23 November
1981. Gladys is buried in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, West
Virginia.

Ruby Alberta was born on 29 December 1915 in Mercer County, West Virginia.
Ruby married and divorced Sam Crawford. Ruby married and divorced Charlie
Crawford. Ruby married Essie Bauguess on 2 April 1954. Ruby died on 12
February 1985 in Mercer County, West Virginia.

Mammie Wilburn was born on 11 December 1918 in Mercer County, West
Virginia. Mammie died on 11 July 1919 in Mercer County, West Virginia.

Albert worked for the Norfolk and Western Railroad as a carman for over
thirty years. Albert retired in 1922 when the rail workers went on strike.

Albert and Margaret moved to a farm on Island Creek in 1919 where Albert
farmed until his death.

"During the time from 1919 to 1922, he had to ride his horse to the Bluff
Road and stable it at Thornton's stable. He walked the rest of the way down
the bluff and caught the train to his work at the N & W in Bluefield.

Albert has been described as a very sensitive man. He was deeply religious
and of the holiness faith. He attended church at Elgood and at Hilltop,
testifying and speaking many times about the saving grace of the Lord Jesus
Christ" (History of Mercer County - Doyle article written by Ranae
Hazelwood).

Albert and Maggie could not afford shoes for every child so when a child
reached school age they would obtain their first pair of shoes. The
children really did not mind, in fact, they would run across the ice on the
front porch in the winter and squeal with delight as the cold tingled their
feet.

Albert F. Doyle died of a heart attack (Chronic Mephritis and Hypertension)
on 1 June 1928 at New Midway, Bluefield, Beaver Pond District, Mercer
County, West Virginia (Death Certificate). Albert is buried at the Doyle
Cemetery, Littlesburg, Mercer County, West Virginia. His tombstone reads:

AF Doyle

Apr 6, 1871
May 29, 1928

His toils are past
his work is done
He fought the fight
the victory won.

It appears that the gravestone, May 29, or the death certificate, June 1, is
incorrect.

Margaret died on 19 June 1959 at 1920 Ohio Street, Bluefield, Mercer County,
West Virginia. The cause of death was listed as Articular Riboillatis and
Myocarditis (Death Certificate). Margaret is listed as passing away on 12
June 1959 in some family records. Margaret was said to have leukemia also.
She is also buried in the Doyle Cemetery with four of her children.

To reach the Doyle Cemetery in Brushfork, West Virginia: from HWY-19 in the
city of Bluefield, WV, take HWY-52 North. After approximately 4-5 miles on
HWY-52 take a right at HWY-23 (Littlesburg). Continue on HWY-23 for 2-3
miles and you will reach a small horse farm. The Cemetery is located on top
of the hill above the house and 500 yards to the left. A small dirt road
also leads to the cemetery from a farm in the valley on the opposite side of
the hill.
