Rose Mary and listers,
When we sailed to Germany as a military family, we were on a Navy troup
ship and sailed out of Brooklyn, NY. We were assigned meal times, as
well as bottle times for our baby, had a cabin with bunk beds and had to
have our room inspected every day. Proved to be a problem if the 2
month old was asleep as we had to vacate the cabin. I only felt seasick
one day when the Atlantic was rough. We landed in Bremerhaven in late
afternoon and had to board a train to Heidelberg. I wanted to see
Germany and we drove through all this towns late at night. The enlisted
people, like us, got a 7 AM breakfast time and the officer's got a later
time and were up higher in the ship. At least I got to travel with my
husband as we had a 18 month old and a 2 month old.
