Bernard

Our paths have just crossed like the M222 between north of Ireland and SW
Scotland ;)

See my offline email regarding some of your references. For the purposes
of this email, here are some more points of interest:

Your: Southern County Antrim
1496 “To the archdeacon of the church of Dromore and Bernard Maclossryd,
canon of the church of Derry, and Nicholas Omulagan, canon of the church of
Connor [Barony of Antrim Lower, co. Antrim], mandate in favour of
Senequinus Suerdus, monk of the monastery of”

[Nicholas Omulagan, canon of the church of Connor in Mid County Antrim.
Now see Hearth Rolls for Co. Antrim, where there is mention of a family still
living in the Conner area:

_Hearth Money Rolls_
(http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~alanmilliken/Research/IrishRecords/General/HeathRolls-1660s.html) ]

1435 “Patricius Omolochan, rector of Eanga [Barony of Loughinsholin, Co.
Derry], eas ordained priest by John Bishop of Connor (Reg Swayne)”
1469 “Patrick Omolachan, perpetual vicar of the parish church of
Rathlurach [Maghera aka Barony of Loughinsholin, Co. Derry] in the said diocese,
priest, has committed simony”

[see my separate with reference to Rev. Wm Reeves "The Diocese of Derry"]

Eastside of County Down
1485 Nicholas Omaeylygan, Nicholas, detainer of Killinchy [Barony of
Castlereagh Upper, Co. Down]

[Probably the same Nicholas in Connor. However, there could be another
family. See following link:

_Parish of Comber_
(http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~alanmilliken/Research/IrishRecords/ChurchRecords/ComberParish.html)

There is record of an O'Mulligan family south of Comber in the parish of
Kilmood. I have never been able to connect this family. In the same records,
another Mullikin family appears, who are Scottish]

There are lots of Mulligans in Ireland, but how many are actually M222?

Here are the Irish ecclesial records I found in regard to the surname
O'Mulligan

Derry Cathedral city
AU 1207. Domhnall Ua Muiredaigh, chief lector of Daire of Colum-cille,
after great suffering felicitously finished his life. And Muircertach
O'Millugain (or O'Maelagain) was chosen in his stead. (Alan’s web site has more on
Muircerach and his son John. Plus the O’Mulligan of the parish of
Kilmacrenan co Donegal, where the ‘Mointermolligan’ (Muinter-Mulligan) were
herenaghs of Tullyfern in 1609.)

East County Derry next to County Antrim
1397 “Then on the requisition of the Dean, Archdeacon and Chapter of

Derry, in law and fact vacant, and in the gift of the Bishop of Derry whilst he
lived,' but now in the gift of the said lord Archbishop, by virtue of the
Guardianship aforesaid, upon a certain Dermot O'Mulligan, Presbyter; and
authoritatively instituted the said Dermot into the said Rectory of
Dromogarvan [now Tamlaght, Barony of Loughinsholin, Co. Derry], and by delivery of

Somwhere in County Down, maybe Holywood (Ard mac Nasca compared to
Armakaher)?:
1490 “Thomas has referred to the pope's audience the fact that Catholicus
