Aodh means 'Fire' or 'Flame', so it's an excellent warrior-name, and therefore
very popular. 'Hugh' is its English cover-name, like Cornelius for Conchobhar,
Darby and Jeremiah for Diarmuid, Joan for Si/obha/n, Winifred for U/na, etc.
