For those of us who are not mathematicians/numerates, could someone please
describe the purpose/hypotheses/findings, etc., in plain English? The chart
apparently has some significance, but it's hard to read, and along with some
eliminations (for what reason?) I'm scratching my head as to what this all
means.

Also, will this exercise/these hypotheses benefit from deeper testing, like
the new Y-DNA 111 (I'm awaiting my father's results)? I assume all the
"supposing" might be served by deeper testing, and I know a broader base
would help. But at what testing level are results meaningful, and how much
does this affect the guesses? I would love for someone to explain this in
non-academic language.

Sandy, I think Bill would be delighted if you took an interest in his
charts. I'm not sure what his background is but he describes himself as a
retired astronomer. His email address is
(mailto:) if you have any questions for him. I'm sure he
would answer. He gets frustrated with me because I'm not a numerate.

I got Bill to add the Grier/Grierson samples from David Grierson's
spreadsheet. Most of them are not in the project. I don't think he's done
another version with those samples added yet.
