I found in a neighboring parish to Balmclellan, i.e. Glencairn iof
Nithsdale, a barony called Balmakane (or Crawfordstoun). The translation
given for Balmakane is the Baile of the McKanes, which reminds me of the
FitzKanes associated with the Mclellan.

Another family found in Glencairn was the Laurie. Laurie is given as an
anglization of Mac Gille Labhrais, which is said to be the original gaelic
name of M'Gilleueras of Clan Afren.
