There's quite a bit of M222 in the Paterson DNA project (about 18 67 marker
haplotypes, I think). I suspect that they may be descended from McPhadrick
Lamonts, but they could be from Mac Phadeirean.
I have 26,15,14 at DYS 481,446,487 and am descended from Lamont (Lamont
94014, not in Ysearch, also has 26,15,14 at these markers. Lamont 108794 has
26,13,14).
In the M222 in the Paterson project, there's quite a bit of 26,14 and 14 at
these markers, but no one has DYS446=15, and no one has all three of
26,14,14
So there's a suggestion of some relatedness to Lamont but it's not
conclusive.
In order to prevent confusion, although my surname is Paterson, my great
great grandmother gave birth to a male child but never married, and her son
was given her maiden surname of Paterson. Family lore has it that the father
was a Lamont and a 66/67 match with a Lamont seems to bear that out.

It was interesting to read in the list that McWhinnie (from Mac Shuibhne)
has changed to McKenzie. It is also said to be associated with McQuhinny in
parish of Carsfern, Kirkcudbrightshire and Makkingze in Wigtownshire.
I also find Mac Phadeirean, belonging to the district of Carrick in
Ayrshire, became Patterson.
Here seems to be a lot inter-winding of surnames.
