The RTE program is being criticized by some of the posters on the message board because it does not discuss the latest SNP findings. A new SNP was found within the past year, called L21, which 80% of Irish have. It is upstream from M222, so those of us who have tested for that definitely have it. Yet L21 is almost absent from Iberia while strong in northwest Europe and northern England. Therefore, some experts are arguing that it competely destroys the "Iberian ice-age refuge" theory and proves that Ireland was settled via Doggerland--the land bridge that existed between Britain and the continent following the ice age.

In my opinion, they need many more L21 DNA samples, especially from Spain and the Basques, before this can be taken as proof of anything.
