Subject: [R-M222] R-M222 with 390=24

Colin,
You said you attribute the 24 and 25 values for 390 in your family to a recent mutation. I know 390 is a slow mutator, and I have a list around somewhere showing average mutation rates, but I can't find it. No matter, I have found so few 24s for that marker among the other M222 that I must conclude the same has happened in our Byrne Northwest Cluster. Apparently, 390=24 is a divider within family lines and not a broader one.
You mentioned Ferguson roots in Cavan, Mayo, and Leitrim. Is their an Irish Ferguson origin separate from a Scotland one, or do they all trace back to the latter?
Thanks for your input.
Paul
