I haven't done the calculations yet, I'll see if I can have a go tomorrow.
But yes, I'm pretty sure L21 will come out being more than twice as old as
M222.
Combining (L21+,M222-) and (L21+,M222+) and having a go at trying to
determine a TMRCA would be an meaningless exercise though. The first ever
M222+ person would have had a haplotype drawn at random from a pretty wide
range. If he happened to be near modal for L21, you'd get an answer fairly
close to that of L21. If he happened to be far from modal, that would
inflate the variance and give a spurious answer way in excess of the age of
L21+.

Ancestral
to, possibly. Parental to, I doubt.
L21 is ancestral and parental to M222+ until another SNP comes along. The
fact that M222+ is so radically different from the rest of L21 might just
speak to the age of L21. I wonder if anyone out there has taken the
L21+/M222+
samples and found a TMRCA estimate for the entire cluster? The latest
estimates for M222+ per David Wilson center on 1,500 to 2000 years BP. I'd
be
willing to bet L21 is twice as old at a minimum for the haplotypes to have
grown
so far apart.
The other SNPS downstream of L21 are basically meaningless at present.
