<Of interest is that the Ewing modal, notwithstanding its distinct
differences from the Ui Niall modal, is closer to the O Cathain grouping
by Ulster Heritage than it is to the general M222+ project participants.
Any ideas on what, if anything, this means?

This is a question perhaps better directed at David Ewing than myself.
But I see no particular closeness in the two families except for a 13 at
DYS 439.

Aren't we back to the Anradan theory on this question? Ewing =
MacEwan of Otter? Is the chain of inference O Cathain (Ui Neill) =
Ewing = MacEwan of Otter and therefore Lamont, Maclachlan and
MacSweeney, the well known Anradan kindred?

I don't see it myself.
