Hi Paul

I periodically search the internet for properties in Co Kildare - it's a
beautiful part of Ireland. With property prices collapsing all over the
world, I might get lucky soon, in which case I could adopt the DNA at
gunpoint option! (as your agent, of course).

More seriously though, should you succeed in persuading your uncle to have a
test, I'd be very interested in the results.
I'm slowly leaning towards the possibility that the Kanes/O'Kanes on the
O'Kane website may be the true O Cathains, and that the
McCains/McCanns/McCans may be plantation Scots.

Sandy,
I have an uncle who is KANE from Laois, and he has many relatives of the
same name in Laois/Kildare - I haven't been successful in getting him to
have his DNA tested yet, but he says that the family came from "Northern
Ireland" a couple of centuries ago and are definitely O'Cathain, sub chiefs
to the O'Neills.
