I'm not sure a single marker like DYS 391 is enough to establish a
geographical sub-clade. But I gave it a shot anyway in Ysearch. I took a minimal
R1b1c7 haplotype (13,25,14,10,11,13 plus 14-29 (8 markers, 0 GD). There were
178 matches in Ysearch. I only took examples when people listed definite
locations for the samples.

Probably the most noticeable geographical distribution is in the Connacht
counties, Cavan, Leitrim, Galway, Roscommon, Sligo, Mayo plus in a few Ulster
counties (Monaghan, Fermanagh). It seems especially prevalent among the
McGoverns and O'Reillys of Cavan. Very light in the NW (Donegal, Tyrone, L'Derry)
and NE (Armagh, Down, Antrim). Also seems to be light in the Munster and
Leinster. But it basically pops up to some extent everywhere, also in
Scotland, England, Wales and Germany. In some of these cases it might be just
another family marker (as in the McGoverns). Whether it reveals a wider connection
is something I can't say.

Maybe someone else will see some kind of connection in the surnames.

In terms of possible clan relationships the McGoverns and O'Reillys of Cavan
were both Connachta, Ui Briuin. McLysaght notes the territory of O'Reilly
included parts of Meath. The Cullivans were also Connachta , but said to be
Ui Fiachrach, originally of Galway.
