Chieflly the ancestors and some of their descendants of Francis Fickling
Dunbar who was born 28 July 1809. He was the second " ... son of George R. and
Mary Fickling Dunbar [and] was called "the Prince of Barnwell County [South
Carolina]".--P. 39. In 1834 he married Lucy Eleanor Smith. She was born 23
July 1807 in Burke County, Georgia, the daughter of Stephen Smith Jr. and Judith
Vince Smith. "Francis Fickling Dunbar was a popular attorney."--P. 39. He
died 20 January 1870. Lucy Eleanor Smith died 17 November 1883. " ... [Both]
are buried in what is now known as the "Boyd Place Burying Ground."--P.--103.
Descendants lived in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and elsewhere.
