Thanks to Paul Conroy and John McLaughlin for correcting the arithmetic and
spelling respectively in my recent posting. I certainly knew that Nial is
supposed to have lived in the fifth century and not 600 years ago in the
fifteenth century, but still I subtracted 400 from 2000 and came up with
600. That Nial fathered the O'Neills has always left me wondering which
vowels and how many l's to use, but still I should have known better than
"Niall." Thank you both for your gentle corrections.

Egregious mistakes of this kind might once have been very embarrassing to
me, but (alas) I am becoming used to them. I apologize to the list. I think
the teaching in this for me is that I need to be more wary that there are
mistakes in many things we read (and write!), and more forgiving of this,
less outraged when I find a mistake others have made.
