I don't know who all is on your email, but on behalf of my father (James J.
Golden), who is a definite R1b1c7, we definitely know our origins. My
father's parents were born and raised in (Rath)Lacken, County Mayo Ireland,
on Killala Bay. It's not far from County Sligo, which, along with Mayo, has
a good number of Goldens. Golden is an Anglicized version of a Gaelic name
(and my grandparents spoke it fluently) and in fact both of my grandparents
were born Golden (at best fourth cousins). My grandmother (Annie Golden
Golden) also had a sister who married a Golden from Sligo. Our name is
variously spelled McGoldrick, Goulden, Golding, and Goulding. Another
Golden in the FamilyTree DNA list is also sure that his family came from
Killala Bay, however they came to the states much earlier than my
grandparents. We think we're fourth or fifth cousins.
So, on this end we're sure where we came from, but I too would like to see
an ancestry map, and I would also like to know of any physical similarities
in those who match my father at the 67th level.

It would be interesting to see an ancestry map for the R1b1c7s. The
problem, of course, is that so few of us know with any precision just where
our ancestors came from. Of the 17 or so in my Northwest cluster (seven
confirmed as R1b1c7) only five of us do--one Donegal, one Roscommon, and
three Sligo (which includes me and a third cousin).
Unfortunately, I have not been able to get FTDNA's map on the GAP page to
work properly.
