Subject: [DNA-R1B1C7] New test results, what do they mean?
Date: Mon, 17 Sep 2007 13:19:57 -0700 (PDT)
Hello Group,
I just received my Y67 results and once again I'm not sure what to make of them. I am tested R1b1c7 (ysearch NYSFU) and am now a genetic distance of 11 from the "Niall" NW Irish modal. I have no close matches and each batch of results seems to leave me further in the dark and no closer to discovering my Mitchell ancestry. I am still very new at this, but it seems I am spinning my wheels waiting for a match and it appears any connection to Niall or his legendary ancestors is fading away. Am I in an unusual situation, or do others feel they are just wandering around in the dark? Should I be frustrated at this lack of progress or am I just realizing the uncertainty of all of this? I feel like a grade schooler in a class full of college professors and I am not sure what to do next.
Thanks for your time. I do enjoy reading the notes and feel I am learning...very slowly.
Mitch
