To put in another word about Ysearch haplogroup
designations:

On the basis of David Ewing's negative answer to my
original question about the possible advantage of SNP
testing for a known relative (paper trail fourth
cousin) who is an exact match at 37 markers for my
R1b1c7-confirmed brother, I myself edited the
"unknown" haplogroup to R1b1c7 for this cousin on
Ysearch. The resulting record was "R1b1c7 (tested)";
the only test(s) this sample had undergone with FTDNA
was the 37 markers.
