I wonder if some of us are descendants of the Galloglas? I am confuse about
the origin of the Galloglas. I read in a history book that the southern Ui
Neill lived in Meath, Westmeath, and parts of the surrounding counties. The
Vikings defeated the southern Ui Neill in 837. I think the Galloglas
originally moved from Ireland to Scotland? Is it possible that the Galloglas are
descendants of the southern Ui Neill and the Vikings?
