Hey John,
Yeah I have a number of possibilities. It will take some time to put together an email with all the disparate info I have collected. I am pretty fascinated at how so many of the surname histories in the annals that claim ancestry to Neill Noigiallach and brothers/sons look to be true. I do not know that I can ever prove a surname relationship with the Ui Lomain. I have noted they were a sept under the Roscommon O'Connors of which I share a number of close matches. http://www.rootsweb.com/~irlrosco/. I have also found other interesting connections. I have read some of the rootsweb conversation on my surname and I know some discount my theories but one thing I have learned is to follow the phonetics, there are not many coincidences in surnames that are relatively rare. I'll follow up when I have time.
