Saundra Stemm, 69, of Zanesville, (Muskingum County) Ohio went to be with her Lord 12:40 am, Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at her residence on Moorehead avenue following a brief illness.
She was born Monday, May 29, 1939 in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of John Joseph and Marguerite Pearl (Withers) Dicks.
Saundra attended Rosecrans High School.
She was a member of the Greater Apostolic Church of Christ and the Guernsey Muskingum Doll Club having served as president for ten years. She enjoyed sharing her large collection of dolls. She penned several stories about her life. She loved people and pen palled with many in several states and countries.
She is survived by seven children: Saundra "Soni" Swingle of Zanesville, Robin Bennett of Columbus, Deirdre "DeeDee" (Mark) Jenkins of Hertford, NC, Dana Swingle of Zanesville, Candice "Candi" (Richard) Enderle of North Dakota, Jude "Joey" Swingle of Crooksville and Linda Sue Stemm (Dan) McNeilis of Columbus Ohio; 13 grandchildren, three great Grandchildren, many step grandchildren & step great grandchildren; two brothers, John Joseph (Mary Ann) Dicks Jr. of Zanesville and William Darwin (Glenda) Dicks Sr. of South Zanesville; several nieces and nephews including, Beth Ann Scott, Marguerite "Peggy" Hughes and Steven Wamack; a son-in-law, Gary Allen of Zanesville.
Preceded in death in addition to her parents; were her husband, Frank J. Stemm Sr. who died June 17, 1996; five sisters, Mildred Willis, Marguerite Pearl Drake, Mary Jo McClellan, Nancy Lee Willis and Nadine Dicks.
Friends may call Friday, April 3rd from 2-4 & 6-8 at the HILLIS & HARDWICK FUNERAL HOME, 935 Forest Avenue. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, April 4th at Greater Apostolic Church of Christ, 1651 State Street Zanesville, OH with Elder Terrence Brown officiating. Burial will conclude in the Zanesville Memorial Park Zanesville, OH.
Arrangements are being handled by the HILLIS & HARDWICK FUNERAL HOME, 935 Forest Ave., Zanesville, Ohio.
