Hi Mary... interesting thought... However...
Re your...
"...he and Harriet went to New Zealand in 1859 from South Africa..."
My understanding is...
JHD and Harriet BAILEY married in St. Pancras, Middlesex 1851...
Known children are as follows...
Georgina DOIDGE, b 1852, Bere Ferrers, Devon
Joseph Bailey DOIDGE, b 1853, Bere Ferrers, Devon
Edwin DOIDGE, b 1856, Bere Ferrers, Devon
Parents and 3 children went to South Africa, from England, in 1859...
Another son...
John Thomas DOIDGE, b 1859, Capetown, South Africa
Parents and 4 children came to New Zealand 1864...
Mary.. Could you please forward me the actual link to the 'Google' entry
that stated...
"he and Harriet went to New Zealand in 1859 from South Africa."... Thank-you
There appear to be several relating to John Hancock Doidge...
