According to the IGI, a James SKINNER was baptised at North Tawton 28 Jun
1801, son of James SKINNER & Elizabeth WHEATON. The OPC for the parish,

Newbie wanting help.My GtGtGtGrandfather,James SKINNER,born abt.1801 in
north Tawton married an Elizabeth BOWDEN,also born in nth.Tawton abt.1799.
They married on the 30 Nov.1823.Can anybody help with the names of his or
her parents,or any other details.I think his father was also a James.
