This sounds like the 5th Battalion of the Devonshire Regiment, which was a
Territorial Army (TA) battalion.

According to
http://web.archive.org/web/20071108123759/www.regiments.org/regiments/uk/vol
mil-england/vinf-so/dv-5.htm ...
on 7 Feb 1920 the 5th (Prince of Wales's) Battalion, The Devonshire
Regiment, was reconstituted in the T.A. with HQ at Plymouth (having
previously presumably being in its First World War state).

I would GUESS that your father and uncle were Army cadets under the auspices
of that battalion.

Was the DEVON TERRITORIALS an organization for young people? My father who
left Devon in 1929 told me that he and his Uncle who was only 3 years older
than him both went to the territorials together and then in the obituary for
his Uncle in 1950 it mentions he was a member for many years of the 5th
Devon Territorials. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I guess I
am hoping if it was an organization etc there might be pictures of it
members or perhaps this is wishful thinking on my part.

Thanks, Dorothy
