The "or" suffix is for the person giving something and the "ee" suffix
is for the person receiving something. The lessor is the landowner or
1st tenant who gives the lease to the lessee. The transferor transfers
whatever (e.g. the land ownership) to the transferee. What always
confuses me is that the mortgagor receives the mortgage money and the
mortgagee gives the mortgage money. Of course, it is the mortgagor
(owner) who is giving the mortgage to the mortgagee (bank) as security
for the loan.

If so, then the lessee couldn't foreclose on the property, as suggested in one of the messages in this thread--? Ditto with regards to mortgagor and mortgagee--?
