Clara is aged 8 on the 1861 census (see www.freecen.org.uk) birthplace Whitchurch.  Clara may have been baptised a Methodist (like Michael Foot's immediate ancestors) so would not appear in C of E parish records.

Hello List!

Wonder if anyone has any information regard WILLIAM HENRY FOOT AND FAMILY - paritcularly CLARA FOOT born 1853. William Henry Foot born abt.1829 in Buckland Monachorum was a stone mason.  I have a CLARA FOOT in a family tree which I am compiling as a surprise birthday gift and although she consistently records her birth date as around 1859 I think there may have been some 'fibbing' as her husband HENRY BARTON ATKINS was younger, born in 1860.  Any hints on Buckland Monachorum Parish Records would be very happily received as there seems to be slim pickings on-line!  'My' Clara Foot is supposedly related to MICHAEL FOOT.  I have put a tree together that works from what I have pieced together online - that is, works from being related to Michael Foot  (I'm awaiting Clara and Henry's marriage certificate from St.Helier, Jersey), but this relies on William Henry Foot being the brother of JAMES FOOT, sons of JAMES AND MARY FOOT - and James Senior being the
son of JAMES FOOT AND ELI!
ZABETH ABEL (Abel crops up as a middle name in the James Foot line)
